Beyond Order - Jordan Peterson

Book - Beyond Order by Jordan Peterson

Peterson's follow up to 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos comes in the form of Beyond Order: 12 More Rules For Life.

Acclaimed as "The most influential public intellectual in the Western world right now", by the New York Times, and it's not hard to see why.

The book itself covers many facets of life, yet Peterson's depth of knowledge teaches the reader like only great storytellers can, leaving them with a better understanding of the often complex societal and human behavioral traits discussed.

Realizing that any suggestions he makes comes from a place of great study both in theory and practical experience as a clinical psychologist, it seems wise to take note of the lessons shared within this book.

Unfortunately, the Author receives more critique than the book itself at times, from both supporters and adversaries alike. Yet for me it was his in his opening, a loving dedication to his Wife, that in my estimation, proved that his works and the place in which it is derived is wholeheartedly well-intended.

Although the undertones are throughout the text, there is a particular section that deals with the fact that it is often through hardship that people emerge the better for it.

Paraphrasing Carl Jung, “That which you most need to find will be found where you least wish to look.” It has been a very powerful and rewarding experience watching BrothersNBook in its infancy and hope that through the groups reach it can be an experience shared and a culture fostered that sees the good tidings paid forward.
