Shoe Dog – Phil Knight
Book: Shoe Dog by Phil Knight
Background:
Whether it was playing as a child, a time we've tried to lose weight or whether we've fallen in love with the meditative like focus running brings. Running is an integral part of so many lives and one of the most popular ways to not only get fit but ground ourselves in what can be a stressful existence.
The book:
While this isn't necessarily a running book it follows the birth of the Nike brand and the founders persistence to build the company over the span of his life. Phil manages to touch on all the details that make a life's journey what it is. Full of ups and downs, unknowns, challenges, hardships and successes.
Through out his entire journey he remains his stoic self and continues to maintain his fitness and calm through his passion of running.
Result:
Run Army's program tries to instil the benefits in what running can bring to a long and fruitful life. Whilst Phil’s success with Nike is a remarkable triumph we also can use the power and calming ability of running to live a longer and more fulfilling life. They say you can't lead a horse to water and make it drink, so Run Army definitely doesn't want to make anyone Run who doesn't want to!
Just provide purpose built running training for those who do and want to run further, more efficiently and build more enjoyment around the pass time
