Rich Dad Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki
Book - Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.
Background -
Money doesn't buy happiness but the lack of it sure as hell limits our potential, focus and increases stress. Financial stress is one of the leading causes of depression and anxiety.
Unfortunately, based off how the world is going this is only going to rise. Noting the amount of classes (or lack of) we had in school around finance, business, interest rates or how to save for a house, it's no surprise that people continue to struggle into their adulthood when it comes to money.
The book -
Rich Dad Poor Dad's simple story is one that follows the plight of two children and their father's career choices. It shows the contrast between those that do what the education system implored them to do and someone who knows how money works. By providing the juxtaposition of the usual rat race of finances vs's the not so conventional approach to making money, the reader is quickly overwhelmed by creative ideas and a new perception of they handle finances.
While often critiqued as a heretic, liar or sham because of his unconventional seemingly simple methodology of how to think about money, there is no doubt that Robert Kiyosaki is threat to our own understanding of finance and the education system.
