The subtle art of not giving a fuck by Mark Manson.

Background -

I read the book after things with my job wasn't working out, I found myself staring down the barrel of unemployment. I have just separated from my partner of 5 years, and had lost of not only my partner, but my friend.

I was at the lowest point in my life, I did know where to look or step. For months I had been fighting my demons, and for the most part they were winning. I felt like a failure, specially after serving over seas, I felt all I had was a couple of medals and a thank you for your service.

The book -

I read the book at a real low point in my life. The book taught me that life isn't perfect, life can be shit and it can be easy to lose focus. It's not a book about how to be happy in life, but instead, what you are willing to suffer through to be happy or achieve your goals.

In the book, it discusses that fuck being comfortable, you need to put yourself out of your comfort zone to grow The advice I can give is, don't be afraid to speak up, talk to your mates, your families, your loved ones, its okay to not be okay.

Seek help, its the best thing I did, specially with in the veteran community, we have lost enough brothers and sisters.

Result -

From what I read through the book, I challenged my values, I sought help, reached out to my loved ones, gave myself an opportunity to change for the better, to be the best version of myself. From all the shit times, i am the most physically and mentally sound I've been.

I now have just started a role helping veterans and their families, using my past experience to let the veteran community know there is life after the ADF
